A technical service is responsible for performing objective tests on vehicle components and systems according to European and UNECE regulations. Becoming a technical service designated by RDW means working with an authority that is deeply involved in every stage of type approval.

Obtaining designation

To obtain this designation, you as a technical service must meet strict criteria and qualifications, as set out in the framework regulation. This includes:

Complying to standards such as ISO 17020/17021/17025.
Having suitable test facilities and equipment to your desposal.
Being demonstrably competent and expert.
Being able to operate independently.
Working in accordance with applicable EU and UNECE regulations.
